Fancy a race with a twist around the streets, alleys and parks of Abingdon? Why not try the Abingdon Urban Race - an exciting adventure race with courses for runners, juniors and families.

Organised by Thames Valley Orienteering Club, it's on Summer Bank Holiday 28th August - with courses of up to 8k for runners, plus shorter ones (1k to 5k) for families and juniors, why not try urban orienteering - it's a popular and fast growing sport, and anyone can take part.

The twist? There's no set route to the courses. They're marked by a series of checkpoints around North and Central Abingdon - you have to find your own route between them, as fast as you can, using a detailed map. We'll give you a timing chip to register at each checkpoint, to record progress.

Be as competitive as you want - loads of help is available. You can run, jog or just walk around a course. Your entry fee includes a special waterproof map, to keep as a souvenir, plus a print out of your splits and result at the finish.

Just come along on the day to Race HQ at Abbey Meadows, any time between 9.45am to 11.00am and don’t forget your sense of adventure! Up for the challenge?
