The long awaited August bank holiday is finally here and there's a whole stack of things to do around Oxfordshire. We've scoured the county for you and have listed a few of the events below. Click on the links to find out more or use the website calendar to be spoilt for choice!

Cogges Farm in Witney is again hosting the Tuckers' Feast Family Food Festival which promises food demonstrations, kids activities, bouncy castle and live music. Plus you can enjoy a drink from the summer bar.

If aerobatics, heavy horses, bike display teams and falconry are your thing, the White Horse Show near Uffington is where you need to be. There's 20 acres of things to do including a fun fair, classic cars, steam engines and go-karting.

There's a two day family-friendly Beer Festival in Chipping Warden near Banbury where you'll find all the usual fun of a festival including live music, family entertainment, bouncy castle, a beer/cider/wine/gin bar, a pig roast as well as camping on the sports field for those who just can't stay away! The event is supporting Clic Sargent and Make-A-Wish so pop along to show your support if you can.

Whether you remember it the first time round or if it's fashionably retro for you, the 1980s Rewind at Garth Park in Bicester on Saturday evening could be right up your street. With live music taking you back to the days of leg warmers and ra-ra skirts, you'll soon be Dancing On The Ceiling...sorry about that.

For the train buffs out there, Didcot Railway Centre will be having a special visit from the Flying Scotsman where visitors will be able to see the engine in full action along the tracks all weekend. It's a ticket only affair so please remember to book yours in advance because there will be no pay at the gate admission.

Towersey Festival in Thame still has tickets available and the list of things to do is pretty impressive. With a huge list of music and dance workshops as well as various music stages, there's certainly something for everyone.

Edmond's Park in Didcot is the venue for the Emergency Services Family Fun Day on Saturday so if you have children who like the bright lights and action of the emergency services vehicles take them along to enjoy the experience. It's completely free. The event is also marking the finish of the 'This Is My Hand' 200-mile walk which started on 21st August.

That's not all. There are so many other bank holiday events on our website, many of which are free, so browse through our online calendar to see all the things happening near you. Have a great weekend, folks!
