Get ready...set...go! We all love a weekend packed with great things to do and once again there's no shortage here in Oxfordshire. Activities for the children, comedy for us adults and all-round family fun for everyone to enjoy - there's plenty to choose from this weekend. Here are our suggestions to get you started. At Oxford Fun Palace on Saturday, science and theatre collide brilliantly for children to explore and learn at Oxford Playhouse. Children become DNA detectives to search for clues and solve the puzzles at this interactive event - they can even get creative by adding pieces to the huge DNA K'nex structure. Budding scientists of all ages will love it!

All of this week, the Chinese State Circus has been performing their award-winning show in Oxford and impressing the crowds. With three performances on Saturday and two on Sunday, you can see all the action as they display their amazing human feats and bring acrobatics to life like you've never seen before. Discounted tickets available online.

Did you know Autumn Rocks? Well, if it didn't before it certainly does now. We've launched our very own event that gives you an extra incentive to get outdoors around Oxfordshire. Plus you could be in with a chance of winning tickets! It's free to take part, it's free to enjoy and someone will win. What's not to like?!

Pick Your Own Pumpkins at Millets Farm starts this weekend and runs on various dates throughout the month in the run-up to Halloween. We think it's a great way to spend an autumn afternoon - frolicking through the fields and choosing your very own pumpkin to carve. Perfect.

To get your fill of comedy, head to The New Theatre on Sunday to see Nina Conti as she shows off her brilliant voice-throwing skills and hilarious puppetry. Book tickets at the back if you don't fancy a bit of audience participation but don't miss out because she'll have you rolling the aisles!

For a huge chunk of sporting fun, head into Oxford on Sunday morning for the Virgin Oxford Half Marathon where you can cheer on the runners at the designated Charity Cheer Points whilst enjoying all the live entertainment located around the 13.1 mile course in the city centre. Hats off to all those brilliant runners!

Remember to have a look at our event listings to see what else is happening near you this weekend and enjoy whatever it is you choose to do. Happy weekend!
